About

James Bragg is a mixture of things – a husband, a father, a musician, a doctor. I like taking photographs and painting but I wouldn’t call myself a photographer or an artist. I’m a believer in God and a follower of Jesus, but becoming less sure about the term Christian. I trust mostly in science and see that this universe took billions of years to form and life has developed through a slow evolutionary process, yet I am sure that there is meaning in this reality. That the Spirit of God flows through all creation, and that we are slowly finding our way to heaven together.

is the proph 12 able to sound analogue as the 08 or like a moog? Or can you hear the digital osc? I´ve got a tetra and evolver desktop. the evolver sounds a little hard and cold to me and the tetra has just 4 voices and too less knobs. I´d like to buy one of the big ones, but i am not shure if the 12 can sound warm and deep like an analog one.
    Thanks for your help

Hi Wolfgang, I love the Prophet 12 – it is an amazing sounding synth. Not sure if i can easily answer your questions. I can’t easily tell the difference between analogue and digital osc. I prefer analogue filters, but even then some of the virtual ones sound good to me like Nord leads. SO I’m not the best person to ask. I’ve just sold my prophet 08 module and i think I can get similar sounds on the 12, but a much greater range of sounds on the 12 which I particularly like. i think you’ll have to try one in person, as any recording on the net is prone to not showing the real sound. You may be better picking up a secondhand prophet 08 keyboard or module!
